Oka-B is an American shoe company founded in 2005 as a sister brand to Okabashi Flip Flops.
Oka-b was created on the principle that fashion and comfort should never be mutually exclusive. They provide a wide variety of flip flops, sandals, and ballet flats with many unique features. These features make them a hit in upscale resorts, spas, hotels and fine gift shops around the world.
The goal was to create a more fashion forward website that still conveyed a sense of comfort. The new look and feel was also carried through the mobile version and email marketing.
Sunshine DVD Packaging
The goal of this project was to design the packaging for a popular movie using abstract elements from the film. This packaging for Sunshine represents the strugle to re-ignite a dying sun by allowing the consumer to activate the glowing sun within the case. The case is made of tinted acrylic and is representative of the observation room in the film from which the crew views the dying star. Once opened, the case reveals the sun, DVD, and digital download card.
This project received a Silver Award from the Savannah College of Art and Design Sesession 2012 Awards.
This promotional swatch book for Wausau Paper was created as a school project and was inspired by the hit television series Pokemon. The swatch book itself has been constructed to mimic a Pokedex, an item from the series serving as an electronic encyclopedia.
Once unfolded, 9 individual books are revealed containing paper samples and other information. Each Pokeball shaped book contains a unique set of papers based on attributes from creatures in the series.

A Century of Photography
This three poster series for a fictional photography exhibition is inspired by a few of the many different antiquarian photographic processes. The first poster in the series is representative of a simple black and white silver print, the second is in the style of a cyanotype, and the third mimics the daguerreotype process.
Whole Foods Deli-Snap Packaging
For this project students worked in conjunction with Sealed Air Cryovac to apply unique design strategies to their Deli-Snap food packaging. The main goal of this design was to show as much of the product as possible inside the package for the consumer to inspect quality and freshness. This design incorporates the new system whole foods has developed with The Global Animal Partnership, the 5-Step Animal Welfare Rating, which rates how pigs, chickens and cattle are raised prior to reaching the market. This was applied to the packaging with the use of a band that wraps over the top edge of the package to show as much of the product as possible and is perforated to tear off allowing the majority of the branding to remain on the package when it is being reused. The 5-Step Animal Welfare Rating Is incorporated on a layer of film seen through the package. These elements were applied to the point of purchase in store as well.
1% for the Planet Invitation
1% for the Planet is an organization that inspires members of the business community to contribute 1% of sales to environmental groups around the world. In return, this growing alliance of companies is given the opportunity not only to see their self-worth rise, but their net worth climb as well. This invitation to a fictional membership event represents their commitment to the planet and the environment. The invitation itself displays a blue map of the Earth with several overlapping die-cuts showing different levels of the card’s interior. The inside of the invitation contains a perforated card that can be removed and presented at the event. The envelope itself is made of seeded paper and can be torn and planted.
